Concrete Countertops and Architectural Elements

Grind, Sealed and Delivered.  Artisan Design & Finishing is committed to working at the cutting edge of concrete technology.  New developments in concrete mix design allow us to cast higher strength countertops, furnishings, or other architectural elements using less material in a shorter turn around time.  This means you get a better quality product in less time (Countertops can be installed in under 10 days).  Our use of recycled materials not only lessens the impact on our environment, but also adds to the unique look and beauty of the finished product.  AD&F can create any color to suit your desires.

Concrete Microtopping (aka, concrete overlay)

Imagine if you could apply a thin veneer of stone to any surface!  Artisan Design & Finishing specializes in the application of a cementitious micro-topping called Milestone HPC (hybridized portland cement).  Milestone was designed to achieve durable results in conditions, such as showers, that are considered too stressful for other thin coat cement products.  Milestone is used with great results to renovate existing floors in commercial and retail spaces without the need for demolition, and with minimal change in the height of the existing floor. 

This highly versatile material is merely a thin coat of concrete applied (usually with a trowel) to an existing surface or new substrate.  Milestone can be tinted to any color using universal tints, and mixed with different aggregates (including recycled crushed glass).  The combination of tints, aggregates and application techniques allows us to create a variety of textures and finishes to achieve a hand-crafted, stone-like aesthetic with a solid-surface feel to any surface including, but not limited to:

• Interior and exterior floors in kitchens, bathrooms, shower pans, porches, patios, and walkways.
• Interior and exterior walls, including fire place surrounds, shower surrounds, landscaping features and other wet environments.
• Existing worn, or outdated materials such as tile or concrete floors, shower surrounds, laminate countertops, or precast façade elements that would otherwise be torn out and thrown in the landfill.  Milestone can applied to any surface where demolition and replacement is undesirable. 

Polished Plasters (Venetian plaster)

Classic, or modern, the enduring impression is timeless.  There are an incredible variety of polished plaster products available to the professional craftsman.  In the right hands, some of these products can create the look and feel of leather, snakeskin, or marble.  An infinite variety of finishes is available to the artisan who has mastered the techniques to unlock these gems hidden in the imagination.  Jeff Scott, owner of AD&F, is one of the few artisans working in this part of the country who has mastered the art of decorative plastering.  If you have a room that calls for something out of the ordinary, Jeff will work with you to come up with a color palette and design.  His expertise guarantees that the end result will exceed your expectations.
